The 5 types of collagen in Complete Collagen Orange
Collagen is a protein found in many different parts of the body. Collagen in skin differs from that in cartilage, blood vessels, or bones. Each collagen type's amino acid composition, structure, and function differ.
At least 26 types of collagen have been defined. The most common are:
Type I collagen is the most abundant collagen in the body, found mainly in skin, hair, nails, bones and ligaments.
Type II collagen is mainly found in cartilage between joints.
Type III collagen is common, along with type I in the skin and blood vessels.
Type IV collagen is crucial for forming basal membranes, a specific type of thin layer that separates cells from underlying structures.
Type V collagen is found in the skin and placenta and co-occurs with type I.
Type X collagen is part of the bone and cartilage structure.
Each type of collagen contains slightly different amino acids. With a combination supplement, you take the profile of amino acids that your body also uses to make collagen. So, it's a good strategy to eat different types of collagen if you want to support your own collagen production.
Complete Collagen Orange is a combination supplement containing collagen types I, II, III, V and X from 3 clean sources of collagen hydrolysate: bovine, fish, and eggshell membranes. We added vitamin C from acerola to support collagen production. We have also added 5 grams of extra glycine to the formula, giving you a total of 7 grams per serving. Complete Collagen Orange contains only active ingredients, so no unnecessary additives, such as emulsifiers or flavour enhancers. We have tested the product for heavy metals at a third-party laboratory.
Complete Collagen Oranges 3 collagen sources
Collagen varies not only in types but also between animal species. Fish, eggs, and bovine are excellent sources of collagen. Because of their sustainable origin, we have used them for Complete Collagen Orange to get the most complete collagen profile possible.
Only enzymatically produced collagen hydrolysate
Collagen is the longest protein found in the body. Long protein chains are difficult to digest. Hydrolysation improves digestibility by breaking down collagen into small pieces (peptides). This also makes collagen hydrolysate readily soluble in hot and cold liquids.
At NoordCode, we only use enzymatically produced collagen hydrolysate. This requires no heating or chemicals that could damage the protein.
Note: collagen is not a good protein supplement. It is low in BCAAs and tryptophan (essential amino acids). Take collagen for the benefits of glycine.
Collagen from the skin of 100% grass-fed cattle
The basis of NoordCode Complete Collagen Orange is 100% grass-fed bovine collagen hydrolysate. This collagen hydrolysate is also available separately as NoordCode Pure Collagen. The collagen is extracted from the skin, bones, tendons and joints of European cattle that eat grass daily.
Naticol® Collagen and type II collagen from sustainable fish
Fish has a different amino acid profile to bovine collagen, making it a good addition to your collagen intake. Naticol® is a pure collagen hydrolysate made from leftover fish skins after filleting. The fish skins come from sustainable, wild-caught and farmed fish, to use as many different sources as possible. Naticol® thus takes a 'waste product' and turns it into a high-quality collagen supplement.

Ovomet® collagen from eggshell membranes
The eggshell membrane is the thin membrane directly under the eggshell. This membrane contains not only collagen but also elastin, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine, and chondroitin. These substances are also common in our skin. The eggshell membrane is, therefore, an excellent way to obtain these substances. Ovomet® hydrolysed eggshell membrane is readily bioavailable, just like the bovine and fish collagen in Complete Collagen.
125 g Vitamin C from Acerola berries
The body uses vitamin C in the production of collagen. NoordCode Complete Collagen, therefore, contains 125 mg of vitamin C from acerola berries per serving (15 g). Acerola berries are a natural source of vitamin C.
Vitamin C supports normal collagen formation, which is necessary for the normal function of skin, blood vessels, bones and cartilage, teeth, and gums.

With a refreshing orange flavour
NoordCode Complete Collagen Orange contains a natural orange flavour, which gives the collagen powder a refreshing orange taste for drinks and meals. This flavour pairs well with water, tea, or smoothies.
NoordCode Complete Collagen is also available without added flavour. In that case, the collagen powder has a slightly tart taste of acerola and glycine.
