100% Pure ghee

NoordCode Organic Pure Ghee is an upgraded, clarified butter suitable for lactose intolerants. It has all the beneficial fat-soluble vitamins left from butter, but the moisture and milk proteins have been removed. NoordCode Pure Ghee is only made of certified organic milk from 100% grass-fed, pasture-raised cows.

Nothing is added during the process, so our Pure Ghee is free from preservatives and salt. Maintaining good qualities, like vitamins, is very important, and to ensure that the end result is the best possible, we test our Pure Ghee in an independent laboratory. In addition to lactose and casein, we test oxidative stability.

From 100% Grass-Fed, Biodynamic origin

Our cows are 100% grass-fed. In the summer, they get to eat grass and herbs freely in the meadows. In the winter, they are fed hay or haylage (grass that’s baled and stored at a higher moisture content than dry hay). 

With biodynamic farming, the farmers preserve the vitality of their products and keep the soil healthy and fertile. No fertilizers, pesticides, or GM technology are used at any point in the process.

NoordCode Organic Pure Ghee is packed in a handy glass jar that is practical for everyday use. You can feel good about the product from the packaging to the ingredients and delicious taste.

Other regulations under which our farmers work are:

  • planned crop rotation,
  • organic fertilization of plant origin (preservation of soil fertility in a natural way),
  • the farm is set up as a closed ecological system,
  • removal of horns from animals is clearly prohibited,
  • tethering/locking of animals is prohibited,
  • green electricity is used for the production,
  • natural packaging is used, i.e. glass,
  • general socializing between young and older members of the cattle family,
  • free range all year round, including in winter and when it snows,
  • a limited number of cows per hectare of pasture.

How Ghee is made

The butter is slowly cooked on fire with a traditional, natural method to gently separate water, protein, lactose, and impurities. Once it’s ready, it turns into a very hot „butteroil, “ which we let cool down for a while. Then, it is carefully filtered to get a perfectly clean substance. What’s left is pure, lactose-free fat that tastes nutty and creamy.

Thanks to ghee’s high amount of saturated fat, it is stable and resistant to oxidation, and it stays good for months without refrigeration.


Why is Ghee good for you?

Ghee contains a rich diversity of good fatty acids. It is rich in butyric acid, CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), and Omega 3. NoordCode Pure Ghee has a favourable omega 3/omega 6 ratio because it comes from grass-fed cows. In addition, ghee contains many easily digestible essential fatty acids and vitamins A, D, E and K.

We endorse Paleo and a Low-Carb Diet that is rich in healthy fats, like Ghee and Butter. Fat keeps you satisfied for longer, and your blood sugar won’t spike up and down during the day. Ghee even tastes so delicious that you can eat it straight from the jar!

Recommended usage

Store ghee at room temperature. The recommended shelf-life is up to 8 months.

Use a clean spoon each time, and keep the jar sealed to protect it from moisture and air. When exposed to heat or cold, ghee’s texture will change, but this will not affect the taste.

Ghee Butter works well for many types of cooking thanks to its natural, nutty taste. It’s an excellent fat to use in baking because it is very heat stable due to its large amount of saturated fat. In cooking, ghee enhances the flavours of spices and herbs. Mixed with coffee, it gives your latte a creamy, nutty taste.
