The Organic Collagen Protein Bar Hazelnut Cacao contains protein from 3 sources:

• collagen from beef bone broth
• organic pea protein
• organic rice protein

These three protein sources ensure a balanced amino acid intake. Notably, the bars don't include whey protein or other dairy-derived proteins. This makes them suitable for dairy-intolerant people.

Collagen from European, 100% grass-fed beef bone broth powder

Bone broth is an excellent source of collagen and other bone nutrients. The beef bone broth is made from 100% grass-fed European cows. The beef bones are gently simmered, and the broth is dehydrated to preserve the nutrients. The bone broth powder is Halal certified.

Gently processed plant proteins

The organic pea and rice protein were obtained through gentle processing of the source ingredients. To purify the protein, no chemicals or additives were used. Spray drying with steam was used to obtain the final purified protein powder.

Healthy fats from organic nuts and coconut

Healthy fats are a great energy source. They enrich the flavour and, together with protein and fibre, provide a lasting feeling of satiety and stable energy. The Organic Collagen Protein Bar Hazelnut Cacao contains hazelnuts, cashews and coconut oil to provide a balanced profile of saturated and unsaturated fats. 

Naturally sweetened using single-origin acacia honey and unrefined date syrup

Our decision to create a whole food protein bar excluded using stevia and sugar alcohols (xylitol, erythritol) as sweeteners. Both of these are commonly used in low-carbohydrate bars. Although sugar alcohols are often presented as ‘natural’, they can cause [intestinal] problems in some people. Also, stevia is known as a ‘natural’ sweetener, but some may experience a bitter aftertaste.

We chose single origin acacia honey and unrefined date syrup as natural sweeteners. This provides balanced sweetness, improved texture and a higher density of nutrients. The natural unrefined sugars also provide energy, especially beneficial when you take the bar as an afternoon pick-me-up or post-workout snack.

Optimised levels of organic, natural, prebiotic fibre

Prebiotic fibre is a great addition to any snack bar for fibre content, satiety, and gut support. Too much, however, is never a good thing, which is commonly the case for low-carbohydrate or keto bars.

We carefully balanced the inulin prebiotic fibre content to be suitable for people with sensitive guts. The Organic Collagen Protein Bar Hazelnut Cacao provides a modest amount of organic inulin to aid digestion.
