Everyone knows that drinking water is important. But what if that glass of water hardly benefits your body?

Filtered tap water and bottled water often lack the essential minerals that support hydration and energy metabolism. Especially in a world full of stress, coffee, processed foods, and mineral-poor drinking water, you unknowingly lose valuable minerals every day.

So the question isn’t whether you drink enough water. The real question is: are you getting enough minerals to actually benefit from that water?

NoordCode Daily Electrolytes turns every glass into a functional ritual — with essential electrolytes from natural sources. In this blog, you’ll discover why that matters, the power of natural minerals, and how our Daily Electrolytes differ from the Performance Electrolytes (formerly known as NoordCode Electrolytes).

What are electrolytes — and why do you need them?

Electrolytes are charged minerals like magnesium, potassium, sodium, and chloride. They are essential for your body: they maintain fluid balance, support the nervous system, and help with energy metabolism. You lose electrolytes constantly — not just through sweating or exercise, but also through drinking coffee or tea, stress, urination, fasting, a low-carb diet, or filtered water. You usually don’t fully replace these losses through food. If you experience high stress, eat a mineral-poor diet, or closely monitor your nutrition, daily supplementation is not a luxury — it’s a necessity. A deficiency can lead to lower energy and increased fatigue.

Why Daily Electrolytes?

To support your body in a world where you lose minerals unnoticed, we developed NoordCode Daily Electrolytes. This mix is specially formulated for everyday use — not for heavy exertion or intense sweating, but for restoring essential minerals in your daily life. Think stressful workdays, drinking filtered water, coffee consumption, a low-carb diet, or avoiding processed foods. Its composition is designed to offer subtle support without overloading your system.

What's inside Daily Electrolytes?

Daily Electrolytes contain a carefully balanced mix of magnesium, potassium, sodium, chloride, and a rich variety of natural trace elements. These often-overlooked minerals are crucial for many processes in your body. You’ll find them naturally occurring in our ingredients: Aquamin® magnesium from sea minerals and unrefined sea salt.

Daily Electrolytes per serving (3 g):

  • Potassium: 350 mg (from potassium citrate)
  • Magnesium: 100 mg (from Aquamin® Mg soluble citrate)
  • Chloride: 54 mg (from unrefined Belgian sea salt)
  • Sodium: 35 mg (from unrefined Belgian sea salt)
  • Trace elements: present (from Aquamin® and unrefined sea salt)

Daily Electrolytes vs Performance Electrolytes

Compared to our Performance Electrolytes — formulated for heavy exertion and high sweat losses — Daily Electrolytes offer a lighter dosage. Both formulas contain 100 mg of magnesium, but Daily Electrolytes have slightly less potassium (350 mg vs. 400 mg) and much less sodium (35 mg vs. 1,000 mg). Daily Electrolytes are designed to support your mineral balance without unnecessary high doses that are only needed under intense conditions.

Feature Daily Electrolytes Performance Electrolytes
Usage moment Daily hydration Sport, sauna, heavy sweating
Sodium 35 mg 1,000 mg
Chloride 54 mg 1,500 mg
Potassium 350 mg 400 mg
Magnesium 100 mg 100 mg
Trace elements ✔️ (Aquamin® & sea salt) ✔️ (Aquamin® & sea salt)

How much salt you really need?

Many people associate electrolytes with salt — and thus sodium. And yes, sodium plays an important role, especially if you sweat heavily. But on rest days or when not very active, too much sodium can strain your body, particularly your blood pressure.

The general guideline:

  • The Nutrition Centre recommends about 1.5 g of sodium per day, with a maximum of 2.4 g.
  • The WHO advises an even lower maximum: 2 g per day.

If you have high blood pressure, it’s recommended to stay below 2,300 mg of sodium per day. If you sweat heavily or have low blood pressure, you might need more. If you mostly eat unprocessed foods, you usually stay around 1,500 mg per day — even when adding some salt.

On rest days, low sodium — like in Daily Electrolytes — is the smart choice: enough to support your hydration without unnecessarily increasing your blood pressure.

Longevity expert Siim Land and health researcher Dr. Rhonda Patrick emphasize: less sodium on rest days is better, but even more important is getting enough potassium.

New research shows: it’s not just about sodium intake, but also about maintaining the right sodium-to-potassium ratio(*).

Sodium-potassium pump

Inside your cells, a clever system called the sodium-potassium pump regulates the ratio between these two minerals. This balance is critical for your muscles, nerves, heart, and fluid balance.

The ideal ratio? Most health organizations recommend between 1:1 and 1:2 — meaning one part sodium to two parts potassium.

However, less than 2% of adults meet the recommended daily intake of potassium (3,400 mg for men and 2,600 mg for women).

For comparison:

  • Banana: ±400 mg potassium
  • Spinach (100 g): ±560 mg
  • Cooked potato: ±540 mg
  • Avocado: ±700 mg
  • Kiwi: ±215 mg
  • Orange: ±240 mg
  • Melon (100 g): ±280 mg

According to Dr. Rhonda Patrick, a higher potassium intake not only helps lower blood pressure but also counters the effects of sodium. That’s why Daily Electrolytes deliberately contain more potassium than sodium — inspired by the natural balance in coconut water.

The importance of natural sources — and food synergy

Not all minerals are the same. The form in which you consume them matters greatly. Synthetic, isolated minerals are often less well absorbed.

At NoordCode, we prioritize food synergy — meaning nutrients are more powerful when consumed in their natural matrix, alongside cofactors and trace elements. Your body recognizes and utilizes these natural forms better than synthetic ones.

Aquamin® Mg soluble: natural magnesium from sea minerals

Daily Electrolytes use magnesium from Aquamin® Mg soluble, a natural magnesium citrate sourced from clean, mineral-rich seawater around Iceland.

This magnesium is sustainably harvested, contains important trace elements, and is stomach-friendly.

Unlike synthetic magnesium citrate — which can cause digestive discomfort — Aquamin® magnesium is better tolerated and more bioavailable.

Unrefined Belgian sea salt: checked for microplastics

The sodium and chloride in Daily Electrolytes come from unrefined Belgian sea salt — rich in natural minerals and trace elements, and free from microplastics or contaminants.

This salt undergoes a stricter quality control than Celtic salt, ensuring maximum purity and safety.

Why NoordCode chooses potassium citrate

Although natural sources are preferred, potassium citrate is chosen for Daily Electrolytes because it’s highly bioavailable, gentle on digestion, and free from sugars — unlike coconut water or fruit powders.

Stevia & glycine: mild and subtle in flavor

Many people dislike the taste of stevia — it can taste bitter or soapy depending on your genetics. That’s why NoordCode uses a very mild dose of stevia, balanced with glycine.

Glycine — a natural amino acid found in collagen — subtly sweetens the formula without creating an aftertaste.

It also has additional benefits, but due to European regulations, we cannot make health claims about it.

No acids

Unlike many electrolyte products, Daily Electrolytes contain no acids.

This makes them gentle on your tooth enamel and body — perfect for daily use.

Conclusion

Drinking water is essential.

But to truly benefit from it, your body needs the right minerals.

NoordCode Daily Electrolytes turn every glass of water into a functional, nourishing choice — supporting your energy, hydration, and well-being throughout your daily routine.

Let water work for you again — with NoordCode Daily Electrolytes.
